We’re back for a second year of arts based activities on the Clapham Park Estate, designed by locals, for locals. We’re excited to be back with an expanded programme of activities, new collaborations and lots of activities for all ages. Showcasing what a talented, diverse and vibrant community this is. We’re also a Resident Art Show– read on to find out about all this good stuff! So keep checking our Instagram page, your community noticeboards and your favourite community hot spots for information in the coming weeks. PAST EVENT African Dance Workshop at Our Local Social Inspired by the rhythms of African folk music, tradition and tribal movements, join a dance session open to all ages. Improve your movement, mind and body health. All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied. Dress comfortably. 22.07.26 7-8pm PAST EVENT Nature Next Door Learn about local animals and their habitats, in this fun nature themed and hands on workshop using recycled materials. Make your own sculpture! 23.07.26 4-5.30pm PAST EVENT Resident Photo Walk Join a local resident for a walk through the estate and its local landmarks. We’ll share stories, capture images with disposable cameras and chart our personal histories in a relaxed session. All ages. Children must be accompanied. Cameras provided. 23.07.26 6pm-7pm PAST EVENT Brixton Chamber Orchestra Concert Join Brixton Chamber Orchesta and their 30-piece orchestra (plus some very special guests) on the Clapham Park Estate No tickets needed — just turn up, bring a blanket, bring your friends and family, and enjoy an open-air concert coming to an estate near you. 24.07.26 7-8.15pm PAST EVENT Musical Theatre Workshop with Cletus Chan and Jack Seager School of Dance Join West End performer Cletus Chan for a fun and energetic introduction to Musical Theatre dance! With professional credits including Starlight Express, Hamilton, Miss Saigon, Mamma Mia! and The King and I, Cletus has performed across London and internationally. This beginner friendly workshop is a great way to move, build confidence and experience the magic of Broadway. Expect a warm up, stretching, strengthening and the chance to learn a short musical theatre routine. No experience needed! Young people under the age of 16. You are welcome to drop off your children to this activity. Dress comfortably. 30.07.26 3-5pm PAST EVENT Youth Theatre Workshop 12-16 with Omnibus Theatre Join Omnibus Theatre for a fun, interactive and drama focused games and activities for children aged 12-15. No booking needed! Just turn up and enjoy! 01.08.26 -5pm PAST EVENT Poetry and Pen A playful poetry workshop for young imaginations filled with storytelling, wordplay and creative writing activities. Open to ages 7-11 01.08.26 3-5pm PAST EVENT Sip and Paint with The Hope Centre Join us for a relaxed, information session to paint your own artwork on canvas outside in nature. Open to adults and young people. Note we only have 8 spaces for this activity and any children must be accompanied. Location: Lawn, The Cube. 08.08.26 2-4pm PAST EVENT Introduction to Painting Workshop Every masterpiece begins with a single brushstroke. Start your creative journey with us and bring your imagination to life. Open to all ages. Children must be accompanied. 10.08.26 6-7.30pm Still Life Drawing Workshop Discover the beauty of still life painting through observation, creativity, and basic technique. Join us to transform simple objects into timeless works of art. Open to all ages. Children must be accompanied. Location@ The lawn, Clapham Park Cube. 13.08.26 6-7.30pm Sun Printing Workshop with Friends of Agnes Riley Gardens Join us and our friends at Agnes Riley Gardens for a guided nature walk and sun printing workshop. Create your own unique artwork to take home. Open to all ages. 15 spaces. Location: Agnes Riley Gardens. Nature Pond in centre of the park. 14.08.26 1-2.30pm Poetry in the Park An open-air poetry workshop exploring memory, rhythm, storytelling and self-expression. Come to write, listen and share in community – whether it’s your first poem or your hundredth. Open to all ages Location: Agnes Riley Gardens 14.08.26 3-5pm Cook and Create Cook & Create brings the flavours of our estate to the table through food, conversation and community. Together we’ll cook, share stories and celebrate the recipes, cultures and memories that live around us. All are welcome. Children must be accompanied. We have an exciting project on the horizon and we invite you to bring a recipe along with you that you’d be happy to share with the community. Clapham Park Estate and residents local to the estate only. 21.08.26 6.30-8.30pm General information Please note, this programme is funded by our Joint Venture as such it is targeted to residents of the Clapham Park Estate and surrounding area. These residents will be prioritised. All activities must be booked unless stated otherwise. Light refreshments will be available for all activities. There will be a small warm meal available at the evening concert and various food offerings at our Summer Fair. All materials will be provided and all activities are free. All activities are at Clapham Park Cube, 116 Kings Avenue unless stated otherwise. The Resident Art Show seeks to celebrate the creative talents of those living in or around the Clapham Park Estate. The show will take place in October on the estate. To enter your postcode must start with SW4, SW2, SW12. There will be various work on display, but we also invite submissions from individual artists, amateur or professional, who live on or around the estate. In addition, we will award prizes to 3 prizes to people who have submitted in each of categories listed below. All submissions will automatically be considered. There are three age group categories in which to enter: 11 and under 12 to 17 years Over 18 years Prizes will be given for the best artworks in each category, displayed in the exhibition and will be reproduced on panels on hoarding on the site. Theme for artworks The theme is going to be ‘Home’. The artwork should demonstrate your understanding of this theme and must be your own original creation. The judges will be looking for imagery which reflects the positivity found in this vibrant local community. Artwork mediums We are seeking artwork in the following mediums: Paintings Drawings Collages Digital artworks Small models or sculptures Printmaking The majority of artworks will not be required for display. Please ensure to send us good quality photographs as it is these we will reproduce for display. From submitted works, winning artwork will be digitally photographed and made into hoarding panels for public viewing. These photographs may differ from the size of your original artwork. A small selection of original artwork may be requested for display. The size of the original artwork must not exceed 1 metre in any direction. Financial assistance If you or a member of your family would like to take part but know that you would struggle to find the materials you need, then please get in touch. We may be able to share some resources or help with providing some basic materials. Work will be viewed digitally so you can simply enter online by sending photographs of your artwork. To enter: 1.) Send us your full name, age, address, contact number. Please let us know if you are an MTVH resident or not. The email address for submissions is: claphampark.regen@mtvh.co.uk and you’re sending it to Rosalyn. 2.) Include up to 3 photographs of the artwork. They should be under 4MBs and in one of the following formats: jpeg, tiff or png All entries must be received before the deadline of 5pm on September 30th 2026. Data protection & GDPR We will hold the personal data of entrants safely and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It will only be used for purposes of the competition and will not be transferred to a third party without the consent of the artist. Selected finalists accept and agree that all shortlisted works may be photographed and/or reproduced for publicity, promotion, and other marketing/PR activities. Copyright of works remain the property of the artist. Judging and prizes The judging panel will consist of staff from MTVH, Just Communication, alongside local residents. Judges will be looking for artworks that interpret the theme of ‘Home’. All selected work will be scanned/digitally photographed and exhibited for a period of 1 week in the Community Art Exhibition. Prize winning work will also be displayed on hording on the site. Prize winning artists will also win: A £100 voucher for art materials A single-stage judging of the artworks will take place in the week of October 5th 2026. Please note that we will not be able to give feedback to all applicants however, winning candidates will be notified by October 16th 2026 FAQ Section Can anyone enter? The competition is open to residents of the Clapham Park Estate, London or whose postcode starts with SW4, SW2, SW12. What are the age groups? There are three age groups: 11 and under 12 to 17 years Over 18 years Where do I send my artwork? There is no need to send in your artwork for judging as it will be judged digitally. If we wish to display the original we’ll let you know where to send it. How much is it to enter? It is free to enter. Can I enter more than one artwork? No, each resident may only submit one artwork. Is the work being sold? No, the artworks will remain the property of the artist. If I don’t win, does that mean my work won’t be displayed? Not at all! We will be displaying lots of different work so we’ll confirm to all whose work we are displaying. What are the key dates? Competition start date: 20 July 2026 Competition closes: 5pm on 30 September 2026 Judging panel meet: The week 6th October 2026 Winners notified by: 3rd week of October 2026 Exhibition date October 26th for 1 week.
